Understanding Our Authority
Did you know that God must be invited to legally manifest on the earth? Most Christians are confused about this truth, and because they don’t understand it, they go through life experiencing disappointments, defeat and lack. Are you giving God the right to move and manifest in your life?
Some might say, “But God can do anything He wants.” Yes, that is true. He is powerful and all knowing, and He is the head of all authority and power. We can agree that God is sovereign, but in His sovereignty and authority over the earth was given to Adam. Genesis 1:26, “God said, let us (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) make mankind in our image, after our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the (tame) beast, and over all the earth, and over everything that creeps upon the earth.” (AMP) Did you notice that God gave mankind complete authority over the earth? Having dominion over means to rule or reign over. This was God’s intention from the beginning but because of Adam’s disobedience, that authority was given to the devil (Genesis 3). According to II Corinthians 4:4 Satan became the god of this world.
When Jesus returns and Satan’s lease runs out, God will once again have complete authority over the earth. So, what does that mean to us? It means, through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit now lives inside of every believer, and through us God influences the world. In other words, we have His point of access into the earth.
With the Holy Spirit as our connection to heaven, we receive instruction and provision as the result of prayer. When we pray and obey, God’s will is established in the earth (Matthew 6:10). When we pray it gives God legal entry into the situations and circumstances we face. Beloved, it’s so important that we understand how to pray and what to pray, and when we do, we can pray effectively and God will always answer.
Jesus Is Lord!
